Slingshot is a team of VoIP Consultants who specialize in improving the profitability of high volume call centers. Since formation in Chicago over 3 years ago, we have expanded our presence into Atlanta and Orlando. Now Slingshot provides an array of services for some of the nation’s largest Call Centers. We have an established reputation of an aggressive solutions-based IT consultancy with diligent technical follow-through.
We leverage expertise in open source telephony, virtualization, software development, outsourcing, and multi-layer networking to build truly unique business relationships with our clients. Our growth has put heavier requirements on our need for Client Support. As we grow, we intend to sustain our belief in world class client service by hiring a self-motivated and ambitious technical professional ready to begin a career in VoIP Telecommunications.
Job Requirements: Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Asterisk (1.2 & 1.6) Freeswitch TCP / UDP QoS Packet Analysis SIP Hosted & Local Network Topologies Preventative Network Security Active Directory Windows Server 2008 Monitoring Applications (Nagios, HyperIC) mySQL, PHP Edgwater Networks Routing Equipment Open SSH Firewall / NAT Management IP Phones (i.e. Polycom SP 550s, x-lite softphone) PBX management and configuration CentOS 5.x Xen Server (virtualization platforms)
Experience Required: Although no specific education or experience is required, we consider strong academic markings and long term corporate loyalty before every employment decision. In addition, if you haven’t been involved with the majority of the aforementioned skills, being a ‘fast learner’ is not a substitute.
Your training begins at the help desk where you will be responsible for creating, updating, and fulfilling technical support tickets for low volume Call Centers. This will prepare you for handling our premium clients who lose thousands of dollars for minutes of downtime.
As you progress, your responsibilities will include full client technical support which may demand you hire a technical support team to assist you. In addition, you will begin taking the reigns on our technical project management. Projects will be focused on expanding and improving the efficiency, output, and automation of our services. In addition, you will be responsible for managing our internal IT resources, such as hardware inventory and hosted services.
Eventually, you will have the opportunity to utilize company resources to lead development initiatives which both peak your personal interests and increase our competitive advantage and market share.
Travel Required: 25%
Remote Work: Optional after 6 months of established contribution
Compensation: 1-2 Week Paid Training , starting salary 35k-55k upon completing training (negotiable by experience); Earning potential over $100,000
