Job Description:
Our client, a major international bank located in New York City, is seeking a Special Assets / Distressed Loans Credit Analyst VP to join their credit division
The ideal candidate must have superior credit skills, experience working in a workouts / remedial management department, strong negotiation and portfolio management skills
Major Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of troubled loans and develop a plan for restructuring and renegotiating credit agreements / terms
Develop resolution strategies and negotiate with clients and banks to minimize loan loss for the bank
Analyze risk and perform credit reviews of existing clients / loans
Prepare and present credit recommendations for approval
Evaluate credit applications / write ups and communicate with various lending business lines throughout the bank on how to handle and avoid troubled loans
Liaise with other bank departments including Credit Examination, Legal and Risk Management
Keep abreast with industry and market information to better understand new and outstanding loans
Make improvement recommendations for the banks credit policy
Job Requirements:
5 + years of experience handling distressed / troubled loans handling loan work outs
Superior credit analysis skills cash flow modeling / projections and credit writing skills
Exceptional negotiation and communication skills ability to communicate with all Corporate Lending areas within the bank
Excellent presentation skills
Knowledge of bankruptcy laws
Bachelors degree a must
Masters degree a plus
Formal credit training highly preferred
