POSITION SUMMARY

Research In Motion is looking for a highly technical, results oriented manager to lead the performance test initiatives for a highly scalable system in a fast growing, successful organization. The successful candidate will have strong resource management and communication skills to lead an experienced team of performance testers. This manager will provide technical and strategic direction to the performance test efforts which includes planning, executing, trending and communicating results to multiple levels of management. This candidate should have experience leading large test teams in a distributed, highly-scalable, multi-tiered server-based application environment. This manager will work collaboratively with other managers to shape the growth and direction of the software testing organization and provide direction and goals for meeting software quality objectives. Research In Motion is the world-wide leader in wireless email communications, serving millions of customers. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject area required
•10+ years in the software industry including strong program/project management skills
•5+ years experience managing software testing teams of at least 5 testers
•5+ years working with high-volume, large scale, server-based applications and services
•Proven ability to provide strategic and technical direction to the performance test organization
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate highly complex technical issues to a non-technical audience
•Proven ability to attract, recruit and retain top-notch talent
•Prior experience managing, mentoring and coaching team leads
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience with UI, load, stress, performance and memory testing tools
•Experience working on cross-department efforts by communicating and negotiating with multiple teams to accomplish goals
•Proven success working and partnering with remote teams
•Proactive, great attention to detail, results-oriented problem solver, critical thinker, and ability to meet aggressive deadlines
•Strong leadership with ability to motivate team members while demonstrating the need to meet quality objectives
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across many constituencies and in time-sensitive situations

ADDITIONAL ASSETS
•High proficiency using automated test tools to conduct QA testing
•Working knowledge of Agile development processes
•Software development background/experience
