Job Description:
Manage the development of regional analytical wildlife habitat models and related geospatial information. Set up project technical guidelines, planning workflows, and supervising construction of prototypical modeling and analysis. Strong GIS raster modeling skills are of critical importance. Interface directly with BLM task manager to interactively assess project requirements, plan solid and innovative strategies for reaching specific goals, interpret and coordinates tasks, and assure product deliverables meet specifications.

Supervise and mentor GIS analysts including: work prioritization, development of model parameters, data and map output standards, network structure, and detailed project requirements. Execute supervisory functions: time sheet and expense report approvals, labor corrections, training, objective setting, performance assessment, etc.

Job Requirements:

The incumbent has substantial experience in activities such as;
- Capturing raw spatial data, editing, attributing and processing raster grids and vector feature classes in ArcInfo Spatial Analyst (or ArcInfo GRID) and file geodatabases, building and querying Access databases, establishing appropriate coordinate systems for analysis, implementing
- QA/QC protocols for spatial and tabular data, analyzing normalized data for specific habitat-related criteria using complex queries, creating professional maps and tables for technical presentations, writing technical reports, and providing metadata files for all digital spatial data which comply with Government specifications.
