Job Description:
The Principal Supplier Development Engineer will be responsible for assignments within the supply chain that include: evaluation of suppliers, supplier selection, supplier development, material cost reduction, and problem resolution with supplied material.

Person in this position will drive strategic objectives across AAI as well as supporting assignments at the site procurement departments. The ability to identify and implement improvements to the supply chain using; research, supplier experience, industry knowledge, and best practice. Provide leadership to Product Engineering and development staff to design products that incorporate strategies for robust designs at lowest possible cost.


Job Requirements:
Required Skills:
Must have the ability to engage the site organizations and/or suppliers in problem solving and building relationships. The ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and develop plans for improvement. A self starter with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and strong motivation to complete tasks is highly desirable. A candidate must be comfortable working in a team environment demonstrating leadership and strong communication skills. A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology is a plus.

Required Experience:
Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline with 15+ years experience in manufacturing of products with high technical content of machining, and metal fabrication operations required. This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
