Job Description:
A high speed wrapping and packaging company has a PART-time, position open at its Roanoke VA facility on the afternoon/evening shift. The position starts at $11.00 per hour with monthly production bonuses. The hours are from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The workweek is 3 days with an average of 20-24 hours per week. This location is in the northern suburbs on Rte. 11. You must have experience with heavy lifting in a fast paced environment, operating production machinery, or have some mechanical aptitude and can handle the physical requirements of the position.
The job is located in a secure, restricted environment and the nature of our business requires that you must first successfully complete a pre-employment, in addition to random, and post accident drug screens later in your employment. You must also successfully pass a thorough background, criminal and credit history investigation. The successful candidate will have a steady and verifiable work history and not a history of numerous short term periods of employment of 2 years or less.
Job Requirements:
The job duties are very physical and require you to continuously lift bags weighing up to 60 pounds to shoulder height, to fill the wrapping machine hoppers, with an average of 300-350 lifts per shift. You must be able to work 8 hours on your feet, lifting, carrying bending, squatting, operating hand and foot controls in a fast paced environment. The employee must also complete simple math functions and able to follow verbal and written instructions.
