Job Description:
Senior MECHANICAL Engineer needed near Orlando Florida for one of the world's largest producers of commercial, industrial and military INFRARED CAMERAS (THERMAL IMAGING & stabilized camera systems) used to guard our boarders, assist law enforcement, protect industrial facilities & locate lost people.

Candidates must have ALL of the following 5 qualifications to be considered, NO exceptions:
1) Electro OPTICAL/INFRARED (EO/IR) experience in the design of camera/sensing products for MILITARY applications
2) Opto mechanical design experience
3) EI/OR design & Opto mechanical design experience must be RECENT (within the most recent 5 years)
4) AIRBORNE applications design experience
5) US Citizenship required (due to security clearance requirements)

Profile:
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will lead a dynamic team of engineers and perform conceptual & detailed design, analysis and verification of complex airborne mechanical, electro-mechanical devices or assemblies using advanced principles, theories, and concepts. This includes design of STRUCTURES, MECHANISMS, THERMAL systems & ELECTRONIC PACKAGING. Responsible for the mechanical specifications and planning related to stabilized optical systems. Develop new engineering concepts and ideas pertaining to system configuration and disciplines & demonstrate mature engineering judgment in technical recommendations.

Ideal candidate will possess:
BS/BA in ME or equivalent experience. (Master's Degree is a plus). Skilled withSolidWorks, packaging design including functional and transport shock requirements and testing. Experience with product design, Mechanical design of GIMBALS & THERMAL IMAGING SYSTEMS for AEROSPACE applications. Skilled with design testing for performance, vibration, and thermal. Payload dynamic response analysis of forced base inputs of vibration and shock. Selection of connectors and wiring and PCB mechanical design for tight packages.

Base Salary $100K- $140K (based on experience), Full Benefits, Relocation Assistance & Interview Travel Reimbursement.

Qualifications:
* Required: Mechanical design and electronic packaging; structural and thermal analysis; CAD solid modeling,
familiarity with bearings and geartrain design a MUST. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point.Travel Occasionally.
* 10+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment with advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts and practices. Skilled in CAD/drafting and familiarly with sheet metal fabrication, material science, thermal analysis, injection molding, drafting standards, product documentation and component qualification.
* Desired: Ability to work in a team environment with customers, internal and external, and co-workers. Self-motivated person who requires minimal supervision. Solidworks solid modeling a huge plus.
