-This role involves shift work covering the core hours 7am-7pm, 7am – 4pm, 8am – 5pm, 12:00pm – 8:00pm.

-This role also involves being on-call 1 week in 5.

-There will be some weekend work as when it is required.

DESCRIPTION:

Working for Production Management within Infrastructure Services, a Technology department, to provide high quality support for Middle and Back Office business functions, where Production Management provide 24 X 7 support. Team Size – 8.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

-A Back/Middle Support position providing System Support,
-User Support,
-Recovery Management and Capacity Planning for Trade,
-Position,
-Cash,
-Reporting,
-Price,
-Finance Systems and intraday and batch processing.
-Typical tasks involve investigating reconciliation breaks, trade booking and ledger queries, job failures and general queries and problem ownership through to completion.

REQUIRED:

-This role requires strong problem solving skills, user support, good interpersonal skills,
-The ability to work under pressure, the provision of on call support out of hours and good communication skills.
-The candidate must be highly motivated and understand the nature of support.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Understanding of investment banking systems and finance accounting systems

-Unix,
-Basic shell scripting

DESIRED:
– SQL, preferably Sybase

ADDITIONAL INFO:

-Ideally, the candidate should have good finance workflow knowledge.

-This role has a wide user community covering front to back office and developers.
