Job Description: Theatrical Outfit, Atlanta’s third oldest professional theater company, was established in 1976. Located at 84 Luckie Street, its home – The Balzer Theater at Herren’s -- is an intimate, state-of-the-art 200-seat theater that opened in 2004. As the country’s first “green” theater, Theatrical Outfit has attained silver certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) from the U.S. Green Building Council. A professional, non-profit organization, which operates as a SPT-8 (Small Professional Theater) under Actor’s Equity Association, the union of actors and stage managers in America.
About the Job: We’re seeking an experienced Director of Finance and Operations to play a key role in our management team. This position will report to the Executive Artistic Director (CEO). The successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for measuring performance against business plans and budgets and for reporting and interpreting the results of operations to all levels of management, including its Board of Trustees.
Job Requirements: Major job functions include, but not limited to: • Managing cash flow and forecasting • Provides direction and guidance as it relates to day-to-day operations of the theatre company and the building • Develop policies, procedures and protocols for operations and personnel systems and objectives
Requirements: • BA/BS in business administration, finance, accounting or related field • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in financial and operational management; non-profit environment preferred • Familiarity with accounting/bookkeeping software; Quickbooks preferred • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy • Able to interact with all levels of staff, including external parties • Team player with a willingness pitch in to get the job done • Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office; expert level of Excel is preferred • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the organization, including evening and weekend shifts • Have an appreciation for the arts and willing to learn and work with the nuances of producing professional quality, live theatre
