Job Description:
Accurately handle, evaluate and solve problems related to the collection and processing of surgical specimens for analysis. Integrate, apply sciences knowledge, troubleshoot and perform more complex procedures for embedding, cutting paraffin and frozen sections, and staining H & E and special stains on surgical specimens. Modify and validate procedures and methodologies for complex special stains such as enzyme histochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology, in-situ hybridization and electron microscopy. Accurately process, prepare and stain Cytology specimens to enable the pathologist to render a diagnosis. Assist with FNA and bone marrow procedures as required. Communicate to maintain team knowledge and train and mentor other healthcare personnel in the field of histotechnology. Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory standards to satisfy compliance requirements. Participate in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team, and department development. Develop, test, implement, evaluate and select new techniques, procedures, instruments and methods in terms of their usefulness and practicality as they relate to the laboratory's personnel, equipment, space and budgetary resources. Oversee the administrative functions and information systems to ensure optimum laboratory operation. Perform quality control and identify quality improvement initiatives to ensure optimum laboratory operation.

Job Requirements:
BS degree in Histology, ASCP certified in HT or HTL
