Job Description:

Perform research and development on sustainable carpet backing systems for the commercial division. This includes improving the technology on existing products and manufacturing and recycling processes. Position requires effective research and development into the next generation of cradle to cradle backing systems and processes. Coordinate lab work, XRs, MTRs and all associated testing to advance development projects. Serve as a technical resource for raw material and equipment vendors. Serve as a technical resource for existing manufacturing processes, such as extrusion coating and compounding. Serve as a resource on cross-functional research teams that focus on overall corporate commitments to sustainable product design and enabling processes.

Job Requirements:

- Preference will be given to those with knowledge and experience in polymer chemistry, processing and recycling. Experience in carpet and/or carpet tile manufacturing is desired.
- A four year degree in engineering or chemistry is required.

Skills and attributes required:

Analytical, detail oriented, organized, engineering approach, knowledge of carpet related polymers, chemical and mechanical aptitude. Excellent verbal and written communications.
