Job Description:
Director of Sustainable Sourcing and Supply
In this leadership role, the Director of Sustainable Sourcing and Supply will champion Burgerville’s efforts to serve fresh, locally and sustainably produced food, by developing and maintaining partnerships with local growers, ranchers and producers. This individual will oversee the daily flow of Burgerville’s food and packaging supply, ensure the food we source and serve is safe to eat, affordable for our guests, priced fairly for our local business partners, humanely raised and sustainably produced. They will coordinate action laterally across internal and external players who comprise our food supply chain and serve our restaurants as a daily, central point of food supply information and action.
This position will bring a service-oriented and relationship-based approach to all activities including the following core responsibilities:
1. Purchasing, Contracting and Supplier Relationships
2. Total Food Cost Management
3. Food Supply Chain Integration
4. Food Safety and Sustainability
Job Requirements:
• 5-years minimum experience in food purchasing and contracting; Experience in purchasing specifically with local Pacific Northwest merchants and farmers in strongly preferred
• Education and experience in all aspects of sustainable food production and systems is strongly preferred
• Experience managing food safety standards
• Demonstrated track record of total cost management results
• 2+ years experience leading cross-functional and multiple organizational teams
• BA/BS in related field and/or a combination of related education and experience required
