Job Description:
Big-company reach, small-company attitude! AAI Corporation, an operating unit of Textron Systems, is currently recruiting for a Sr Buyer. This position will be responsible for purchasing materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Will also study market trends, interviews vendors and recommends sources of supply, solicit and analyze quotations required to satisfy all the requirements of the authorizing source documentation, and monitor the outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products to maintain production. Other duties include:
Negotiates for any adjustments resulting from discrepant materials, surplus or obsolete materials, contract terminations, or a purchase order cancellation.
Follows up orders to expedite delivery and shipment.
Obtains certifications of delivery and conducts check against order.
Checks and approves for payment invoices for orders placed.
Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation.
Assists in the support required for the preparation of proposal cost data.
May supervise and monitor Buyer(s), or other purchasing personnel.
Job Requirements:
Required Skills:
Knowledge of purchasing regulations pertinent to the military and commercial environments.
Good working knowledge of materials purchased and sources of supply.
Ability to plan, organize and schedule tasks.
Ability to exercise judgment and ingenuity.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with others
Required Experience:
Typically requires five years experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent education or experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job duties.
Note: All candidates must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
