Job Description: JOB DESCRIPTION The Box Office Manager, with direction from the Festival Assistant Director, is responsible for operations of the 28th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (March 11-21, 2010) Box Office. This position works with an external ticketing software provider (Tix/SYS) to ensure all festival ticketing needs are met and orders are fulfilled efficiently. The Box Office Manager will hire and supervise Box Office Cashiers (68 positions).
SPECIFIC DUTIES Responsible for box office set up, staffing, and management Recruit, train, and supervise 68 Box Office Cashiers to sell tickets, memberships, passes and merchandise Determine and oversee IT needs for on-line ticketing Coordinate set up of online ticketing system with Web department and Tix/SYS Set up ticketing booth at theater venues Coordinate with other festival staff to determine and fulfill comp or special order ticketing needs Ensure fulfillment of daily will call at all festival venues Manage operations at all festival ticketing outlets Work with Operations Coordinator to secure sufficient supplies for box office operations Prepare daily box office sales reports Responsible for tracking all funds generated from box office operations Track patron transactions, sales or credits or refunds, posted electronically to credit cards Provide written analysis and wrap-up report on Box Office operations and performance
Job Requirements: DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with box office and ticketing systems management Excellent communication, public relations, and planning skills Demonstrated organizational acumen and attention to detail Ability to manage unpredictable workflow and meet deadlines Ability to supervise cashiers, work independently, and as part of a larger festival team Fluency in Mac and PC-based operating systems and working knowledge of MS Office and Filemaker Pro Working knowledge of Tix/SYS a plus
