Job Description: The Executive Director will provide oversight of existing programs and operations and will plan for future needs and goals . The Executive Director will also assure efficient use of agency resources to the maximum benefit and provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence. Other responsibilities include: • Organizational reporting and monitoring – leads the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against agency goals and the Commission milestones • Works with Board of Directors and committees to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness • Works with Board’s Treasurer to ensure adherence to the agency’s fiscal programming, budgeting and accountability while balancing the delivery of programs • Provide administrative support to Board of Director’s committees • With approval of Board, accepts invitations to attend other meetings, as a participant or speaker. Attends collaborative partner meetings, CREER Advisory meetings, trainings, conferences, and organizational development.
Job Requirements: The ideal candidate for this position will have graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree and preferably with a Master’s degree in business administration, social work, public administration, or related degree. Preferably, the candidate would have several years of responsible experience in accounting, donor management, fundraising, community organizing, marketing, grant administration/writing and other phases of non-profit management. Other desired qualifications include:
Knowledge, Skill, or Ability • Ability to advocate for the ideals of CREER • Ability to listen well and be perceptive • Experience working with diverse communities • Excellent reading, writing, and research skills • Strong administrative and management skills • Bilingual Spanish-speaking • Strong social presence with public speaking abilities • Experience creating and monitoring budgets • Experience in fundraising and fund development • Ability to be an advocate for community’s welfare • Ability to write and manage grants • Ability to be cool, tactful, and thoughtful under pressure • Good oral and written communication skills • Ability to network with key stakeholders • Ability to deal effectively with media on sensitive issues • Facilitate dialogue between, among stakeholders • Excellent conflict resolution skills • Ability to keep on top of what’s going on in the community • Good delegator
