Job Description: Looking for a very professional, motivated and seasoned Senior Level Personal Injury Case Manager (Paralegal). This is an exciting career opportunity in a very fast-paced plaintiff personal injury law firm. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years intensive, plaintiff PI-specific paralegal experience. Description: This candidate must have great communication skills, and have an authoritative nature (to handle certain situations that may arise.) You will be working very closely to the attorney. Case management, maintaining client files, medical compilation and history, extensive client and provider communication, litigation, e-filing. We are looking for a person who: • Knows about litigation and has an understanding of legal processes • Can be assertive and take charge • Can communicate well with opposing counsel, their staff, clients, and others to get things done • Types well and can crank out the work on time and accurately • Is organized and creates a new to do list every morning • Is on time every day (which means 8:30 a.m.) to our office • Can start immediately • Has a job history where you have stayed at most jobs for more than 3 years at a time • Has a positive attitude • Professionalism is a must with exceptional verbal and writing skills along with employment longevity with previous law firms Requirements: Hours: M-F 8:30-5:30
• Habits of: Getting to work on time every day • 4 year college degree • Ability to work with experienced trial lawyer • Availability of: Does not mind going above and beyond even when not asked • Team player • Working knowledge of Microsoft products • Ability to adapt to new procedures and technological systems such as 1. Intermediate working knowledge of case management software
• Daily responsibilities include 1. client intakes 2. assembling and writing demand packets 3. drafting responses to interrogatories and obtaining documents for production 4. preparing trial notebooks 5. drafting pleadings and discovery a) obtaining, reviewing and organizing medical records b) obtaining reports (DMV, police, etc) c) providing updates to adjusters and clients 6. lien and settlement negotiations 7. heavy client contact both in-person and by phone • Candidates must be able to type at least 60 wpm with accuracy • MUST possess a professional telephone manner • Must have excellent email communications skills • Must have high-level writing skills • Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading abilities • Familiarity with basic accounting principles • Professional presentation and demeanor is a must • Must have understanding and commitment to trust and confidentiality principles We are looking for a person who • Knows about litigation • Can be assertive and take charge • Can work under pressure and ability to follow directions and make corrections when needed • Can communicate well with opposing counsel, their staff, clients, and others to get things done • Types well and can crank out the work on time and accurately • Is organized and creates a new to do list everyday • Is on time every day (which means 8:30 a.m.) to our office • Can start immediately • Has a job history where you have stayed at most jobs for more than 3 years at a time • Has a positive attitude • Professionalism is a must with exceptional verbal and writing skills along with employment longevity with previous law firms • Personality: We are looking for someone who is smart, motivated, responsible, and able to manage time, people, and projects. You should like to take on responsibility (which we have) and to be responsible for getting the work out correctly and on time (which we require). You must have good written and verbal communication skills • Detail oriented • Can handle several tasks simultaneously, prioritize work, and maintain confidentiality! • Can work very well independently as well as alongside other staff • HAS minimum 5+ years of experience
