Job Description:

Specific responsibilities include daily sales calls on existing customers. Must present products to architects, designers, and other users. Additionally, he or she must continually prospect for viable new accounts while developing a key awareness of what is happening within their geographic area.
 
Essential Duties:
 
1. Establish and follow up on any leads to bring in prospective customers.
2. Work with architects, designers, contractors, etc. to choose products for their projects that fit within their budgets.
3. Travel throughout assigned area to call on regular customers as well as prospective customers to solicit projects or talk with customers.
4. Work with scheduling and project management to help resolve and ensure that project is installed smoothly.
5. Inspect customers' flooring.
6. Entertain accounts through luncheons, dinners, etc.
 
Contract Specialist must implement the selling process in his/her area; they must have the ability to make good judgment decisions. A full understanding of the product line is essential. Furthermore, an understanding of the application that each product serves is critical. The ability to interface/communicate with a diverse group of customers in a friendly and respectable manner is a must. The ideal candidate will possess a flexible personality and be able to communicate clearly to other persons, both orally and in written form. Contract Specialist must give presentations to architects, designers, and end-users to educate them on the flooring industry and how Shaw Commercial can benefit them on their projects.
 
Internal Candidates with unique qualifying experience may be considered in lieu of direct sales experience


Job Requirements:

High school diploma/equivalent and previous sales experience required. Prefer Bachelor's degree. If no Bachelor's degree, previous industry sales experience required.
