Job Description: Maintenance Millwright - Wood panels - Southeast USA Job Purpose · Maintain and install mechanical systems at the plant. Working Relationships · This position reports to the mechanical supervisor for his department. Job Task · Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery. · Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. · Determining the tools and equipment needed to do a job. · Develops work request as required. · Disassembles machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. · Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear. · Fabricates replacement parts. · Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events. · Must be able to work rotating shifts in a team environment. · Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. · Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. · Receives work orders and enters details into CMMS upon completing job task. · Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment. · Test-runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs. · Welds or cuts to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.

Problem Solving Skills · Capability to look at the larger picture. · Confers with operators, observes, tests, and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction. · Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. · Develop contingencies for problems that arise while understanding the consequences of the options. · Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. · Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. · Promote team work. · Root cause failure analysis procedures. · Troubleshooting and analyzing difficult machinery and process issues. Technical Skills, Training & Experience · 5 years in industrial maintenance. · Ability to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness. · Ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged. · Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. · Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness. · Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). · All work is performed from written, verbal, or drawing specifications with strict compliance to all appropriate safety and code requirements. · Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. · A strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulics and pneumatics experience essential. · Basic OSHA requirements understanding. · CMMS and work order system understanding. · Computer typing skills - 20WPM minimum typing skills. · HAZCOM procedures understanding. · High school diploma or equivalent. · Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job. · Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical structures and processes. · Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. · Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. · Perform emergency mechanical repairs to assure the least loss of productive time during the repair period. · Planning and scheduling basics for job completion. · Reading and interpreting schematics, engineering, drawings, and sketches. · Understand product quality standards. · Understanding of the plants machine operations and maintenance requirements.
