Job Description:
SUMMARY:
This executive-level management position designs, implements, and maintains financial programs in accounting,
budgeting, internal control, and fiscal reporting based on criteria established by the CEO and Board of Directors. Reports
independently to the Board of Directors on the status and trends of financial and operational health of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Executes and discharges duties and responsibilities for the nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation as principal financial
officer. Under the direction of the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), maintains oversight
of all fiscal operations.
• Designs, implements, and executes fiscal policies and procedures at both the corporate and division levels.
• Designs, prepares, analyzes, and explains internal and external financial and statistical reports to the Board of
Directors, CEO, and divisions.
• Designs, implements, and maintains internal control systems, practices and procedures providing accounting
controls for the safeguarding of corporate assets.
• Establishes processes, policies, and procedures authenticating the legitimacy of all corporate disbursements.
• Establishes a budgeting and reporting timetable assuring the proper timely filing of internal and external reports
on payroll taxes, tax returns, grants and contracts, financial and statistical reports and budgets.
• Authorizes the preparation of checks, drafts, or other orders of payments for authorized disbursements except as
may be limited by contract, policy, or law.
• Designs, implements and maintains an accounting system allowing for revenue maximization, compliant billing,
cash collection, and receivable management.
• Recommends to the CEO and the Board of Directors, areas where audits are required or may be necessary.
• Recommends to the CEO and Board of Directors strategic financial plans to maintain fiscal viability of the
organization.
• Provides the Division Directors and the administrative management team with financial projections on operations,
financial position, and cash flow.
• Maintains an awareness of existing tasks, deadlines, and anticipated programs or projects in which the division is
involved and the current status of each.
• Attends and/or chairs staff meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
• Adheres with accreditation and compliance standards/guidelines.
• Maintains a professional, organized, clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines,
and safety standards.
• Oversees the financial management of Grants and Contracts including the budgeting, reporting, and strategic
planning with Division Directors;
• Oversees the management of General Accounting, including General Ledger, Purchasing, Stores and Cash;
• Oversees the management of Patient Accounting including Registration, Billing, Follow-up, and Contract Health
Service (CHS).


Job Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum requirement is a Bachelors of Science with an emphasis in Accounting.
• Preferred is a Master's degree (M.A.) in Business Administration or a CPA and five years experience as a
corporate fiscal officer.
• Background as fiscal officer or CFO in health care is essential
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be covered by agency's insurance.
• Must provide proof of private vehicle insurance.
• Must possess or be able to obtain CPR certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain such.
