Job Description:
Our client, an automotive manufacturer, located half an hour east of Lexington, KY is seeking a Manager of Production Control and Procurement to provide leadership and direction to the production control, procurement, sales, and warehouse departments. This position will supervise and provide training and development to production control, procurement, sales, and warehouse associates.

The person selected will coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for establishment, select products for purchase by testing, observing or examining items, and estimate values according to knowledge of market price. The candidate chosen will determine the method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid, discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action, coordinate activities involved with scheduling production, shipping, receiving, and warehouse, coordinate sales activities, effectively plan, coordinate and direct all production control, procurement, sales, and warehouse activities, determine applicable policies relating to these functions. Successful candidate will also be responsible for training, development, budget, sales, and efficiency.

Selected applicants will possess an in-depth knowledge of purchasing procedures and terms, proven management skills, strong written and oral communication skills and presentation skills, as well as the ability to negotiate and provide input and recommendations both internally and externally, coordinate and monitor a high level of activity as demonstrated under a variety of conditions and constraints, comprehend complex instructions and respond effectively as well as to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly. Knowledge of appropriate office software applications is required in addition to strong organizational and time management skills. Bachelor�s degree and 5+ years experience as a Production Control / Procurement Manager is required. Automotive background required, Japanese environment a plus.
