Job Description:
Our client, a major international bank located in New York City is seeking an AVP Internal Auditor to join their Audit Team.

The ideal candidate has 4 + years of experience managing banking audits and experience managing a small team of auditors on a project to project basis. Strong project management, planning and reconciliation control experience is essential. Regulatory reporting experience is highly preferred.

Major Responsibilities:
• Scope, develop and conduct internal audit projects for various business lines within the bank.
• Manage assigned audit team to ensure the projects are carried out in a timely fashion and within audit methodology compliance
• Develop written audit findings and present these findings to the internal groups and audit management
• Follow up with the audited groups to ensure that the findings / recommendations presented were implemented
• Conduct meetings with the internal groups to discuss potential risks and controls
• Conduct annual evaluations of staff performance ensuring controls
• Mentor and train other junior members of the Audit Group

Job Requirements:
• 4 + years of experience conducting banking internal audits – knowledge of banking processes / procedures
• Experience leading a team of banking auditor and managing audit projects
• Strong communication skills – oral and written
• Ability to work within rigid timeframes and to meet deadlines
• Ability to “hit the ground running” and to work with limited supervision
• Bachelor’s degree required
• CPA is highly preferred
