Job Description:
POSITION: The Department of Engineering in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology seeks applications for a twelve-month, full-time position as a Research Associate in Graphics and Animation at Norfolk State University.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of all graphics, animations, and graphical user interfaces associated with a large-scale computer simulation for medical training on Multiple / Unannounced platforms. Gain experience with e-Learning standards (SCORM, ADL etc.). The candidate will also supervise 2-4 graduate students.



Job Requirements:
PhD/M.S. in Graphic Design, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or B.S. plus significant years of experience.

Experience designing and developing 2D and 3D graphics using Autodesk 3DSMax, Maya, and Adobe Photoshop.

Experience developing graphical user interfaces using Flash and Motion Graphics a plus.

Great artistic and creative sense.

Advanced illustration, graphic design, and typography skill set.

Ability to take direction, self-motivated with a strong work ethic, and an ability to work well independently and in a team environment.

Ability to conceptualize, design, and implement an entire user interface from scratch

Capability to work under pressure, within tight deadlines, budgetary considerations, and pre-established design requisites.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
