Job Description:
This position is responsible for managing a staff of accounting professionals responsible for overall financial reporting and controls process. Evaluate, refine, and maintain optimal internal control structure. Manage all aspects of state tax reporting and compliance. Work closely with and assist the Financial Controller to produce Annual and Quarterly NAIC Statement filings as well as audited financials, footnotes and ‘MD&A-type’ reports for both individual companies and consolidated reporting. The position will also be involved with business performance analysis for the profit centers and reinsurance programs. Perform technical accounting research as needed and make recommendations for accounting treatment and disclosures in accordance with SSAP and GAAP.





Job Requirements:
-Degree in Accounting and 7 - 10 years accounting/reporting experience with a preference for experience in property and casualty insurance.

-CPA designation preferred.

-Solid understanding of business and accounting/financial reporting systems and controls.

-Organized and independent.

-Willingness to accept ownership, responsibility and accountability.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills.

-Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.

-Strong project management skills.
