FedEx Handler/Shuttle Driver/DOT Job

Job Summary
Handler/Shuttle Driver: Shuttles, scans & sorts packages and loads
and offloads trucks, aircraft and containers.

These are Part Time positions. Candidates work an average of 17.5 up
to 30 hours a week. Pay rate is $13.14/hr. This position includes a
full benefits package.

You are not eligible to apply for the Handler/Shuttle position if you
have had any of the following within the last 3 years: More than 2
moving violations, more than 1 non-moving license suspension or ANY
moving violation suspension.

Approximate shift/hours-

AM shift:

Monday through Friday--5 AM to 9 AM

OR

Tuesday through Saturday

Tuesday through Friday 5 AM to 9 AM and Saturday 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM

OR

PM shift: Monday through Friday 5 PM to 10 PM

All hours & shifts are approximate and subject to change based on the
business needs of the Company.

Minimum Requirements:

* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Possess high school diploma or GED
* Have valid state driver's license
* Ability to lift 75 lbs. and maneuver packages weighing above
75 lbs. with appropriate equipment
* Successfully pass all basic and recurrency training
* Demonstrate good human relations and verbal communication
skills
* Maintain a neat appearance.

South Boston Handler/Shuttle positions will involve handling and/or
access to U.S. mail. Those positions involving handling and access to
U.S. Mail require clearance by USPS. USPS will not grant clearance to
anyone who has not resided in the U.S. continuously for the past five
years [excluding service in the U.S. military]

In addition to other requirements for USPS locations, Selective
Service Registration criteria must be met.

You will be required to submit your registration number or evidence
of an approved exception prior to employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Shuttles freight but not a majority of total time worked;
picks up and delivers packages on an emergency basis, as
required.
* Loads and unloads aircraft, containers and company vehicles.
* Operates mechanized ramp equipment as required to load and
unload packages.
* Separates packages by service type and destination, in
accordance with established procedures.
* Scans packages according to prescribed procedures.
* Audits size and weight of packages to ensure conformity with
service requested.
* Ensures Cargo is properly secured and tied down.
* Ensures the use of safety procedures in handling packages.
* Meets aircraft and transports packages to sort area.
* Assists in directing aircraft to proper ramp locations.
* Performs ramp functions in accordance with established FedEx
policies and procedures.
* Cleans and washes company vehicles; cleans and makes repairs
to drop boxes, customer counters and other non-mechanized
facility equipment ensuring compliance with corporate
appearance standards.
