Job Description:
Analyze blueprints, specifications and proposals to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for product, projects and services. Keep track of potential projects and prepare a Bid Feasibility Study on acceptable projects. Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists. Visit project sites as necessary and attends any pre-bid conferences. Compute the cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, prepare bids, select vendors or subcontractors, and determine cost effectiveness. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions. Responsible for getting plan deposits and bid bonds ordered and having bid proposals prepared. Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Responsible for post bids including reviewing quotes and projects for final scope, setting up accounting cost codes and assisting the Project Manager assigned with reviewing projects and issuing purchase orders and subcontracts. Requires travel to client sites for pre-bid meetings and business meetings on a periodic basis.
Job Requirements:
Master’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management. A Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree. Requires demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Timberline, Primavera, AutoCad and Microsoft Applications, Accounting, Finance and Statistics. Requires Engineer in Training Certification and 30 hour OSHA Safety Training Course in Construction Safety & Health. Experience or knowledge may be gained concurrently or as part of educational curriculum. Requires travel to client sites for pre-bid meetings and business meetings on a periodic basis.
