Director of Financial Reporting (2009112) Job

In this role, you will direct the preparation of external (SEC) reporting, including Form 10-Q’s and Form 10-K’s; review income statements, balance sheets and reports for regulatory agencies; and ensure the integrity and timeliness of all financial numbers being reported.  Selected candidate will manage accounting oversight and check adherence to corporate accounting policies; handle the ditribution of information regarding changes in accounting policy, new transactions and regulations, and their implications.  In addition, you will review and upgrade financial accounting and reporting policies, procedures and standards to be in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and handle any additional duties/projects as required.

• Solid understanding of accounting practices and extensive knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules, and regulatory accounting and reporting requirements;


• Extensive and current knowledge of cutting edge principles and practices associated with accounting, finance, systems and quality initiatives;


• Proven ability to effectively communicate and interact with people at all levels of an organization from analysts to the Chief Executive Officer;


• Exceptional leadership skills, including change management;


• Strong PC skills required, including extensive experience with spreadsheets, databases and PowerPoint presentations; and


• CPA preferred.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's degree in accounting, finance or business, or equivalent experience strongly preferred);


• Substantial knowledge and experience (a total of seven years or more) in the application of generally accepted accounting principles, as in a public accounting environment, coupled with experience in an accounting policy, financial reporting or Sarbanes-Oxley role, or similar position;


• Extensive experience in an executive finance or accounting role, preferably with a demonstrated track record of success of a well-regarded financial services company; and


• Prior SEC financial reporting experience is highly preferable.
