Job Description:
Newmont's four mining operations in Nevada include the Carlin Trend complex - the most prolific gold field in the Western hemisphere - located 40 miles west of Elko; the Twin Creeks mine is located 15 miles north of Golconda; the Lone Tree complex near the town of Valmy; and the Phoenix and Midas mines both located near Battle Mountain. The Underground Miner will safely operate various pieces of hand, powered or mobile equipment to meet site production goals. Essential duties include:
Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations.
Comply with Loss Control (HSLP), Environmental, and Newmont policies and procedures.
Safely operate utility vehicles, underground light vehicles, front end loader, forklift, and water truck, including pre-op inspections.
Use Ellipse to process requisitions and pick tickets and to perform all required documentation accurately and proficiently.
Demonstrate knowledge of UG layout and level.
Perform inventory count.
Unload delivery trucks, safely using proper techniques and equipment.
Clean the dry and muster room as required.
Safely handle explosives.
Perform warehouse runs and deliver materials underground.
Manual scaling.
