Job Description: Healthcare Account Coordinator (Telecommuting Position)
Familiarity with insurance contracts and the healthcare industry will give the right professional a solid foundation for success when working with our patients and insurance organizations on data capture, virtual registration. This professional will also be required to perform the following duties: Complete the registration or confirmation of registration information on patients entered or to be entered in the practice management system Verify eligibility, determine benefits, patient financial responsibility and medical management criteria Complete guarantee of payment procedures if applicable Select or create correct insurance code and related information based on HAI policy guidelines Data entry and/or verification of ICD9, CPT and HCPS codes from a CJ or CJPJ batch Prepare requests for information to include valid IC9 or CPT code, referring provider information, correct modifier and submit to Account Manager Prepare Charge Reconciliation reports
Job Requirements: Qualifications: High School diploma Solid understanding of the insurance industry and products, including FFS, HMO, PPO, POS and the changes in managed care organizational structures impacting patient care Knowledge of ICD9, CPT and HCPCS codes a plus Solid understanding of third party reimbursement and familiarity with insurance contracts 2+ years healthcare experience in a capacity involving registration and insurance verification Proficiency with Microsoft Office and practice management software Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Team player Familiarity with laws that govern healthcare practices i.e., HIPPA, anti-trust and practice management High Speed internet required for telecommuting
