It is an exciting time to join Honeywell's Specialty Materials group. This is a great position to showcase your financial leadership in a highly visible role.

Specialty Products is a $650M strategic business unit within Honeywell's $4.3B Specialty Materials segment. Specialty Products is comprised of five sub-segments: Healthcare & Packaging, Advanced Fibers & Composites, Specialty Additives, Fine Chemicals and Commercial Development. The Commercial Development segment generates global sales of approximately $25M and is home to Specialty Materials’ portfolio of emerging technologies in the Energy Storage, Photovoltaic and Safety and Security markets. The Commercial Development segment was recently awarded an approximately $30M contract with the Department of Energy as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to develop Lithium Ion battery technology.

The following are the core responsibilities for the Commercial Development Segment Financial Leader:

• Act as the lead financial advisor to the Commercial Development Segment Leader and business team, providing financial leadership, driving financial performance and monitoring internal controls of the segment.
• Overall leadership/stewardship of the financial planning process for the segment including annual operating plan (AOP), annual five year strategic plan (STRAP), monthly forecasts and actual results; financial resources at the manufacturing facilities are primarily responsible for performing the month-end closing processes. Financial planning for the segment includes P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow for the global business.
• Lead financial support of government contracts including working closely with Specialty Materials Controllers Group and other Honeywell Strategic Business Groups (SBG’s) to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Provide financial analysis, reporting and decision-making support for key business activities including:
• Sales and Margin Analysis
• Customer & Product-line Profitability Analysis
• Commercial Deal Analysis (pricing, terms, level of service, value capture)
• Business Case Development around new product development processes, new business capture and growth opportunities
• Provide financial analysis and support to the segment's organization in the SIOP process, specifically in the area of demand (sales) forecasting.
• Foster a strong internal control environment within the segment. Key areas include controls over revenue recognition, sales accounting, receivables management, commercial contract management and financial reporting processes.
• Provide financial support to the segment's business development activities to include acquisition financial modeling, due diligence and coordination with SM Controllers department on acquisition accounting.

Reporting Relationships:
• The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer - Specialty Products and is matrixed to the Commercial Development Segment Leader

Job Requirements:
Required/Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or related field such as business
• 8+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA
• 2+ years of financial planning & analysis and/or commercial finance experience
• Government contract auditing/accounting
• Six Sigma Greenbelt certification
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Hyperion or other ERP systems
