Job Description:
Conduct analytical market surveys and studies to identify target markets for the company’s products and services. Study and analyze past and present tourist markets and environment in the United States and Japan, and predict future tourist markets. Identify which population base is willing to visit the United States without any promotional inducement or incentives, and which is willing to visit and tour the United States, particularly Hawaii, with economic incentives (i.e. lower price) or greater products and services. Design, develop, and implement research programs and prepare numerous reports concerning marketing conditions, pricing level, market niche, and market opportunities. Create, design, and implement the appropriate promotional programs and incentives to get consumers to visit the United States, particularly Hawaii, despite their fear of terrorism. Develop programs and relationships with referral sources in targeted markets pursuant to marketing and business development plans, plans that are derived after extensive surveys, studies, and analyses. Based on studies and referral sources, determine the various needs and demand of the company’s products and services. Promote the company’s tours and related services and products. Make suggestions for modifications and revisions of the various programs to improve performance based on the company’s intermediate and long-range business plans and goals. Prepare comprehensive reports and projections analyzing tourist market, industry trends in light of September 11 and fear of terrorism, and developing business forecasts and recommendations for future marketing and sales actions.
