Job Description:
A major international bank is seeking a VP of Accounting Policy to join their Controllers Group in New York City.

The ideal candidate will have superior knowledge of FASB and SEC accounting principals, strong knowledge of banking processes and products such as fixed income / derivatives etc and public accounting experience.

Major Responsibilities:
• Ensure proper US regulatory reporting and SEC reporting by interpreting and documenting new US GAAP accounting standards for various offices within the bank (front, middle and bank offices)
• Assess deal documentation for complex products ensuring US reporting and SEC filings
• Enhance general ledger processing and client transaction recording accuracy by participate in training for the Officers within the Proof and Control Department -
• Liaise with foreign accounting offices to improve financial reporting standards
• Maintain FASB regulations

Job Requirements:
• 8 + years of accounting policy, SEC and FASB regulations experience at a bank or financial institution
• Knowledge of banking processes and banking products including fixed income and derivatives
• Excellent communication skills – oral and written
• Strong MS Suite skills – Word / Excel
• Bachelor’s Degree is required
• CPA is highly preferred
• Public accounting experience is required
