Linde is currently seeking a Manager General Accounting to join the team in Murray Hill, NJ.

Job Responsibilities:
•To develop and implement accounting policies and practices, providing accurate reporting and financial results, in adherence with IFRS and Linde accounting principles.
•Develop and lead a High Performing accounting and payables team as business partners with other Finance managers and other departments.
•Manage monthly close process to preparation and review of financial results for all entities on US and Caribbean SAP systems.
•Coordinate schedules for closing and reporting region-wide.
•Understand and implement new Linde or IFRS accounting guidelines region-wide.
•Facilitate timely review of all balance sheet positions for accuracy and completeness. Preparing audit-level documentation as support. Includes periodic review of balance sheets managed outside of Murray Hill.
•Manage directly complex accounting topics, applying Linde and IFRS principles for areas such as leases, pensions, asset retirement obligations.
•Prepare analysis and propose adjustments for all entities for key reserves such as bad debt, environmental, onerous contracts, etc.
•Prepare or review management reports focused on the balance sheet of the region, developing formats based on business partner’s needs and objectives. Reports should include working capital.
•Manage initial bookings, follow up and subsequent accounting for purchase price allocations on all acquisitions.
•Manage accounts payable processes including outsourced invoice process, travel and entertainment expense reporting and purchasing cards. Utilize best practice and maintain proper levels of internal controls.
•Manage Fixed Asset controls and reporting requirements, insuring physical inventories over every three year period and annual impairment analysis of tangible and intangible assets including purchase price adjustments.
•Direct preparation of portion of Linde LiFT Financial Reporting, developing reports in Bex Analyzer as needed.
•Manage all accounting, reporting and audit requirements for assigned group of stand alone Joint ventures and other entities.
•Manage Linde Self-Assessment audits for the region, helping develop plans to address non-compliance.
•Understand and provide backup for financial management of Mexico entities.
•Participate in annual planning process, primarily related to the balance sheet and specific assigned entities.
•Lead or participate in SAP-related integration and process improvement projects.
•Lead and coach Accounting and Accounts Payable teams, developing focus on world class service.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
•8+ years financial experience, preferably mix of public and private (manufacturing); focus on accounting closing process, financial report preparation and internal controls.
•Bachelors in Accounting required
•CPA required, knowledgeable in US GAAP and IFRS
•Fluent in Spanish, highly desirable
•Experience in supervision and team building
•Strong technical accounting and financial skills
•Strong organizational and work planning skills
•Ability to recognize issues and follow to resolution
•Coaching and people development skills
