Position Overview:
Cargill Animal Nutrition is looking for a Sr. Merchant in Ferndale, WA or Turlock, CA. The Merchant will purchase commodities which may include corn, soybean meal, as well as other alternative ingredient opportunities in the region. This regional procurement team services 2 CAN business units (12 locations) with annualized sales volumes exceeding 750k tons. The team procures and manages logistics for over 50 ingredients.
The purpose of the position is to merchandise ingredients for the region as well as use the BILLS formulation system to find alternative ingredient opportunities as well as identify the best value supplier for ingredients. This person must be self-motivated and able to make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Principal Accountabilities:
60% Merchandising (Macro price sensitive ingredients)
20% Merchandising related projects
20% Formulation related activities (Using our tools like BILLS and BASE in formulation to make
decisions)

Job Requirements:
Required:
Bachelors degree
3+ years experience in merchandising commodities or logistics.
Good presentation skills.
Attention to detail
Strong organizational skills.
Strong team player
Experience with Excel and PowerPoint
Strong customer service aptitude
Self-starter
