3rd shift - 10:30 pm - 6:30 am

Position Summary: Accountable for providing service to Kohl’s Department Stores by repairing, installing and maintaining the material handling equipment and maintaining the distribution center building and facilities. Contributes to the profitability of the Company by maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of all maintenance activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and implement repairs and equipment maintenance performed throughout the material handling system and the building. Ensure that projects and repairs are completed in cost-effective and timely manner and also meet established department and Distribution Center best practices and standards
• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and strappers.
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers and cardboard conveyor.
• Regular maintenance and repair on all housekeeping, power and material handling equipment such as forklifts, power lifts, pallet jacks, handcarts, bridges, shopping carts, sweepers and scrubbers.
• Perform minor electrical/plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves.
• Perform routine maintenance of heating and air conditioning units.
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility.
• Perform weekly inspection and repair of fire protection equipment.
• Meet with department supervisor and/or manager to anticipate future requirements for preventative maintenance and plan accordingly for projects. Work collaboratively with department managers and supervisors to anticipate and address mechanical opportunities, ensuring optimum processing productivity.
• Conduct interviews and makes recommendations on maintenance department hires.
• Train, develop and evaluate Associates in the department.
• Maintain effective communication to ensure productivity, morale and performance of Associates by receiving and addressing associate questions, comments and concerns.
• Maintain, compile, accurate inventory records and reports.
• Enforce Kohl’s policies and procedures. Follow proper safety guidelines.
• Assist Department Supervisor and/or Manager in administering progressive discipline procedures.
• Provide back-up for department supervisor and/or Manager when absent.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures; follow department training manual guidelines and standard
operating procedures.
• Comply with all Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) standards and lock out/tag out procedures.
• Keep work area neat and clean.
• Enforce standards of appearance according to Distribution Center dress code.
• Work well with fellow Associates and Supervisors.

• Physical activity includes climbing ladders, using hand and electric tools, driving power lift equipment, moving cartons on the material handling system, shoveling and snow blowing, using pallet jacks, manning the shipping sorter towers, cleaning, painting, lifting, etc.
• Read, write and perform basic math and computer operation.
• Working knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to climb ladders and run all power equipment.
• Must have own basic set of tools.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Physical activity includes standing/walking up to 8 hours with scheduled breaks, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and pushing on a regular basis. Frequent movement of
cartons and equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasion.
