Job Description:
Headway Corporate Resources is currently seeking a Lab Technician for a Client in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Specification for analytical lab support:
• Analysts would prepare samples and perform analytical chemistry measurements for a small analytical lab in a pilot scale operations facility at the company location. The analyst would be responsible for recording results and performing limited charting and data tracking as needed.
• Analyst coverage would be needed on a 24 hours per day and 7 days per week basis
• One person would be required per shift. The lab analysts would be trained in the specific analytical measurement and sample preparation techniques and methodologies by a company analytical chemistry supervisor.
• Analytical chemical analyses are of a routine nature; the same measurements are required across the 24 hour operation.

Background and Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent experience in performing analytical chemistry testing
• Good organization skills and attention to details
• Good understanding of analytical measurement techniques is needed

Specific Responsibilities:
• Receive and prepare samples for analysis. This task will involve weighing, pressing, and milling samples
• Perform analytical chemistry measurements using methods established on XRF and on Leco Oxygen instruments
• Provide and record test results
• Perform limited charting and data tracking as needed
• Run standards and controls as required
• Maintain lab cleanliness and housekeeping; ensure that supplies are restocked and samples are properly stored
• Perform other testing and carry out assignments as directed by lab supervisor
