Job Description: Business Context
A program to transform BP Manufacturing’s Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) capability is underway, combining early improvements in the way that we work and deliver value, with progressive change over the next 2-3 years to fully deliver all of the necessary upgrades in people, process, and technology. The intent is to establish PSCM as a collaborative business partner, and this will be achieved through improvements within PSCM and the business line organizations.
We therefore need talented and experienced Procurement professionals who are ready for the challenge of shaping the new PSCM organization as an industry leader.
Role Summary: The Regional Category Manager, CMS and Process Chemicals, is responsible for implementation, facilitation and influence of CMS and Process Chemicals strategic sourcing activities for five (5) U.S. refineries as well as supporting two (2) U.S. Chemical sites. The approximate spend in this category is $125m, which is focused around 10-15 major suppliers along with a large number of regional and local smaller suppliers. The role reports to the US Regional Market Sector Manager, Operations and Equipment.
The incumbent is expected to work with very minimal supervision and to network independently with senior leadership teams and key influence leaders across a wide spectrum of Sites, business groupings and Functions within BP’s Refining and Marketing (R&M) segment. Success for this role is defined by establishing forward looking category strategies which are supported by the business result in the appropriate sourcing activities to enable BP to meet and more importantly beat our competition in terms of purchase cost, TCO and/or supply stability.

The Fuels Value Chain organization is a geographically bounded portfolio of assets, linked by infrastructure, customers, product flows and a distinct competitive structure.
There are two types of Fuels Value Chains: - Integrated Refiner Marketer (IRM) Fuels Value Chains, comprising refining, supply acquisition, pipelines, logistics and marketing activities. - Supply and Marketing (SAM) Fuels Value Chain, comprising supply acquisition, pipelines, logistics and marketing activities. Job Requirements: o Minimum of B.S. or equivalent in Supply Chain or a relevant engineering, scientific or business discipline o A solid track record of exceptional savings performance and delivery over a number of years of experience comprising a mix of operations, business and supply chain management skills preferably in a Refining (Oil & Gas) industry o Expertise in understanding the chemical distribution channels and networks in the U.S. o Demonstrate relentless drive and determination to achieve success o Set clear direction and priorities o Foster effective teamwork and collaboration o Demonstrated ability to develop wide and diverse networks o Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies o Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence third parties such as suppliers, governmental organizations and partners o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Ability to manage organization and behavioral change o Willingness to travel and develop first hand understanding of Sites and the wider organizational challenges o Experience in collaborating with multiple sites to drive common solutions
