Job Description:
Specific Duties include:

• Identify trends within department and industry to help reach and exceed sales and margin goals;
• Develop strong working relationships with current vendors and source new vendors to build assortment;
• Negotiate with vendors on price, availability, product specifications, and delivery deadlines;
• Identify merchandise assortments that best match customers' needs;
• Ensure that products are priced competitively;
• Identify and develop new products or business opportunities;
• Investigate and respond to customer service issues; and
• Mentor junior team members.

Job Requirements:
Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience as a Buyer or Associate Buyer in the Home Textiles industry (bedding & bath) with an internet, specialty or department store retailer;

Ability to relationship well with vendors and potential vendors and to professionally represent the company.

Have experience in the following product categories: comforter sets, bed in a bags, quilts, and duvet covers;

Decision making and creative ability along with excellent communication and negotiating skills;

Have established business relationships with major industry brands (Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, etc);

Be organized, proactive and entrepreneurial; Show attention to detail; Strong analytical skills and Excel experience required; Bachelor's degree in retail, fashion or marketing preferred; and Some travel required.
