Senior Staff Engineer - Advanced Materials

Description of Position: Manages materials systems development, processes, and characterization/analysis from concept to production transfer. Develops and recommends new process formulas and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, as well as those of countries wherein the Company operates. • Manages the development and implementation of chemical processes, methods, and equipment for the production of process formulas, technologies, and products to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality. • Plans and implements the development of new chemical process formulas, establishes operating equipment specifications, and may improve manufacturing techniques and new chemical process equipment production. • Acts as liaison with research and/or development to ensure processes and designs are compatible with objectives. • Manages the development and analysis of polymer material systems. • Develops and manages printed polymer electronics. • Develops new materials and processes for PCB fabrication. • Transfers technology and processes from R&D to mass production. • Manages reliability and testing laboratory • Coordinates activities with responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing. • Manages, hires, motivates, and counsels assigned staff. • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills: • Expert knowledge of PCB and advanced electronics. • Uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters. • In depth knowledge and application of advanced principles in polymer, chemistry, and related materials. • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent client service skills. • Microsoft Office suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Education Required: • M.S. in Chemistry, Polymer Sciences, Material Sciences, or equivalent experience. • Ph.D. preferred. • Nine plus years experience in related field.
