Job Description:
We are looking for an energetic candidate with solid business development experience in retail and educational sectors in the US and Canadian markets. You will be primarily responsible for developing new business opportunities for our products in:
1. Retail – Discount chains (Wal-Mart, Walgreens etc), Other retail segments (major ethnic stores)
2. Educational Institutions –Public libraries/consortiums, School districts, Charter schools etc
3. Online stores – Amazon, Buy.com etc

Work profile description:

1. Win new business in all areas of interest.
2. Identify, evaluate and generate recommendations regarding new customers and business opportunities. This includes determination of specific opportunities, development of capture and contact plans, and execution of these plans in coordination with the Management Team.
3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key personnel within customer organizations. Uses these relationships to identify new business opportunities and to assess customer opinions. Share these findings with management and recommend actions.
4. Assist in collecting and analyzing market information needed to establish and update business and capture plans. This information is to include opportunity size, competitive landscape, recommended win strategies.
5. Analyze and define the market for product growth within assigned product market segments. Maintain a "served-market" analysis defining the total market, company market share, competitor market share, and available market share by product markets. Provide update data for the business plan.
6. Provide data to prepare update and control forecasts covering projected new business sales, bookings, proposal activity/costs and investment requirements by customer and program. Determine, where available, market pricing requirements and assist in establishing product pricing policies.

Other details:

- Location: Chelmsford, MA. Candidate will be provided flexibility to work from a home-based office.
- Travel: The position involves 50% travel within US/Canada and overseas.
- Compensation: Based on your capabilities and track record, a base salary will be negotiated. Bonuses and incentives will be factored into your compensation based on sales.
- Benefits: Negotiable.


Job Requirements:
Educational and Professional Credentials:

- Minimum: Undergraduate/associate degree in business
- Preferred: MBA in Sales & Marketing
- Must have minimum of 7 years of proven experience in business development preferably with vendors to the retail sector
- Having contacts with decision makers in the retailing, educational sector is a definite plus
- Preferred candidate will have 10 years of sales experience in any similar sector

Other qualifications:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Capability to converse and understand the Hindi language is a strong plus
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage numerous leads simultaneously
- Proven track record in closing sales and reeling in new business from existing clients
- Competence in using standard business computers and programs
- Legally authorized to work in the US
