JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Storyboard POSITION: Storyboard Revision Artist
REPORTS TO: Storyboard Supervisor DATE
PREPARED: August 25, 2009

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handling storyboard revisions and animatic cut-ins as per needed.
• May need to do storyboard from a section of the script based on the director’s notes and storyboard supervisor’s instruction.
• Manage his/her time effectively and efficiently in order to complete the production on time.

DUTIES

• Ensure that the production for which he/she is responsible is completed on time
• Ensure the production meets the standard of quality set by the Producer
• Consult with Supervising Director as to the technical feasibility of elements in the script and suggest creative solutions that will maintain the vision of the series.
• Study scripts to determine artistic interpretation and design boards in conjunction with the Supervising Director/Producer.
• Communicate ideas effectively and recommend solutions to help interpret the script visually
• Consult with Supervising Director to approve the final storyboard panels and make revisions as needed
• Maximize the re-use when the production schedule calls for it
• Overall, be aware of the show/series continuity

QUALIFICATIONS
• Preferably with one year storyboard experience
• Excellent understanding of animation timing and posing
• Familiarity with 3D animation and the strengths and weaknesses of CGI animation
• Superior understanding of filmic storytelling principles and techniques
• Deadline motivated
• Critical thinking skills
• Planning and management skills
• Ability to communicate processes, plans and concepts
• Ability to create entertaining and persuasive messages
• Ability to present specific viewpoints
