Job Description:
Responsibilities:
The We Day Programming Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of the We Day
events and program as relates to the participation of youth stakeholders. This includes (but is not limited
to):

• Supporting the development of strategy relating to youth engagement in the events and year-long
program, ensuring maximum youth participation over the year
• Developing and managing event registration for youth stakeholders, including
developing/improving registration systems
• Developing and implementing all external communication to schools surrounding the event,
including:
o Promotion of the event and participation in year-long school program
o Registration announcements
o Responses to inquiries
• Planning ‘in-services’ (training sessions) for students and educators attending We Day events
across Canada
• Assisting with program partnerships with school boards
o Attend Participation Committee meetings in Toronto
o Communicate to external stakeholders and engage them in decision-making
• Reporting on program elements as requested, such as registration levels and participation rates
post-event
• Managing development of year-long program materials, such as two standard reports required
from participants and curriculum
• Helping to ensure high rates of participation amongst schools following the events
• Liaising with regional staff to ensure effective delivery of We Day events in other regions across
Canada and the United States


Job Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
The interested candidate to the position will require the following skill set:

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Political Science, Economics, International
Development/Relations, or Business and/or possess a diploma or certificate in project
management or equivalent education
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
• Experience in marketing and promotions considered an asset
• Demonstrated creativity and solution-orientation
• Able to tackle large projects stretching over many months in an independent fashion
• Able to time-manage and multi-task in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
• Sound understanding of and experience with Microsoft Office Suites (e.g., Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher) and knowledge of databases
• Proactive attitude, self-motivation and enthusiasm to develop a plan and carry out projects to
conclusion
• Resourceful, self-motivated and energetic
• Able to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Demonstrated flexibility and initiative, particularly when faced with challenges
• Positive and professional attitude and ability to work as a team player
• Excellent organizational, administrative and inter-personal skills
