Job Description:
General Description: Mid-level position supporting the sales team in the sourcing and purchase of electronic components.
Reporting Relationship(s) Position will report directly to the Purchasing Team Lead who will report directly to the Vice President.
Characteristic Duties: The position will have duties in the following areas:
Sourcing from existing and prospective vendor base, buying and bidding related functions to existing vendor base, solicitation of vendor and prospect base for excess inventory availabilities, heavy negotiation, maintaining and updating customer contacts database, performing follow-up on pending part requirements, vendor quality assessment, maintaining vendor relations, commodity recognition, various administrative tasks.
Physical and Environmental Characteristics: Very interactive position, position will interact with all departments at all levels. Department is a very up beat, fast-paced, positive environment with high energy.
Success Factors: Candidates need to have a strong business sense, closing and negotiation skills are a must. Should have excellent communication and influencing abilities with the desire for continuous knowledge, and cost management focus. Will need to be goal oriented, a team player and have the ability to focus on the task at hand. Must be driven with excellent presentation skills. Follow through on procurement strategies that enhance competitive advantage for both MicroRam and its customers.

Job Requirements:
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications: Must have working knowledge of MS Office, and excellent communication skills (verbal and written). A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required. All candidates need a proven track record of at least 1-2 year’s successful buying experience in the electronics industry.
