Job Description:
The Pittsboro Police Department located in Pittsboro, North Carolina is in search of a Community Policing Officer for our new "Unity in the Community" campaign. Pittsboro Police Department is seeking a qualified individual with 5 years minimum law enforcement experience, unquestionable integrity, high level of motivation, outstanding problem solving skills and interest in being a team player. Individual must want to assist the Pittsboro Police Department with its mission to proactively build and strengthen community relations. Individual must currently possess a North Carolina BLET certification. This will be a full time position with the majority being daytime hours, some weekends and nights required occasionally. Job Requirements:
• Must possess a current North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training Certificate
• Must be a United States Citizen
• Must be a high school graduate or have passed the General Education Development (GED) test
• Must be at least 20 years of age
• Must be of good moral character with no disqualifying criminal conviction(s)
• Must undergo an extensive background investigation including, but not limited to, polygraph exam, psychological evaluation, medical exam, drug screen
• Must successfully complete a physical agility test and oral interviews
• Must be available to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule
• Must meet other minimum employment requirements established by the Town of Pittsboro
