Job Description:
Purchasing Agent Akron, OH (1935)
Our customer is looking for a purchasing agent with experience in purchasing capital equipment and associated spare parts worldwide to the tire industry. This is a permanent position.
Candidate should have basic engineering experience for evaluating components with technical drawings. Also, knowledge and familiarity of in-house CNC machine shop (Mills-Lathe-Router) is required. Candidate should have experience with in-bound shipping/transportation of purchased products.
Candidate should be professional and organized, efficient with Microsoft programs Word and Excel, strong communication/negotiation skills, and ability to work with project management.
Duties include:
contact with vendors and contractors for securing parts, materials, and services.
negotiate pricing terms, conditions and manage proprietary information.
sourcing new and/or cost effective materials and components.
expediate orders and intervene with problematic deliveries.
interface with sales, engineering, accounting, customer service and factory personnel.
purchase planning for timelines associated to assembly and delivery schedules.
Pay Rate: $16 to $19 hr.
