Job Description:
RhondaWritten, LLC is currently seeking a Graphic Designer to design the front and back cover of a non-fiction novel. They are looking for an experienced graphic designer that has designed or attempted to design book cover(s) in the past 3 years, with the latest industry look. The book is scheduled to be published this Fall, so the turnaround time on designs will need to be quick. We are looking for Graphic Designers that can take the name of the book and create a one of a kind design that will appeal to fabulous women ages 22-65.
Design Specs: (Want you to know what you’re getting into, so you can get inspired?)
-Title: CHERRIES OVER QUICKSAND
-Subtitle: FUN STORIES FROM WISE MEN WHO RETURNED TO THEIR RESILIENT WOMEN…AND MORE!
-Author: Rhonda Ricardo
-Image: Sophisticated woman posing holding a martini glass filled with cherries and a silhouette of a women sinking in the background or a pretty woman stepping out of quicksand onto giant maraschino cherries (just ideas, we’re definitely open to new ideas too!)
-Colors: Black, White, Pink, Grass Green, Turquoise Blue (but not limited to these colors)
-Background on the title: The book is a collection of undercover interviews taken by a newspaper social columnist for the Times. This is not a ‘How To’ book; this is a feel-good, pro-men and pro-woman book. Only the funniest interviews are being published. CHERRIES OVER QUICKSAND is about women who chose to keep or rekindle their relationships by choosing cherries (a fun attitude) over quicksand (a fearful, ignorant, or lazy attitude about their relationship).
Job Requirements:
- At least one successful book cover design, or experience contributing to the book cover designs preferred.
- A strong typographic sense – experience with Illustrator – a must!
- Ability to send final versions of the design in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign with layers in tact. Concept designs can be submitted as PDFs or JPEGs with watermarks.
