Quality Engineer Manager - Plant M3 (127590-552) Job

The Quality Department Manager provides direction to the department with utmost regard to safety, efficiency, productivity, cost, and quality while ensuring compliance with all company, plant, and departmental guidelines and procedures. Manage and direct the everyday functions of the Department. Support and develop direct reports. Drive and support team environment in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and efficiency. Monitor all departmental cost, production, quality, processes, and procedures. Ensure that all departmental SQS and SES procedures and instructions are followed by employees. Motivate employees to work in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.   Assist employees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns to include PI (Process Improvement) process, TMS, quality and safety . Participate in Six Sigma projects. Work closely and communicate with other Department Managers to ensure  quality of products is maintained.     Attend and/or conduct departmental meetings with employees. Actively participate in P.R.I.D.E. process, SQS, SES and S.A.F.E. programs. Assist all supervisors with problems that may occur, including but not limited to:  PI Process, TMS, quality,  Perform other duties as directed by plant management.   Must be able to communicate effectively with all level of management, as well as supervisors and hourly employees. Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and analyze data and reports. Must have a working knowledge of all job functions in the department in order to provide direction and leadership.

2 +years of previous quality manager experience in a manufacturing environment. Shaw Certified Manager Quality Manager certification preferred; if not certified, the candidate will be required to become certified within a suitable time frame. Ability to design, implement and maintain floor level databases to facilitate proper tracking of quality related records; maintain a continuous audit program for SQS/SES; serve as HQMS Administrator for M3.

BA/BS degree preferred
