Job Description:
Locate and maintain relationships with vendors of Kobe beef in Japan. Interview them and maintain communications with them to determine product availability and terms of sales. Implement and/or modify sourcing and import specifics; discuss and negotiate terms of import contracts according to in-house strategies and methods to enhance a sound business base of wholesale Kobe beef purchasers in U.S. and suppliers in Japan. This includes inspection of products to ensure all internal and external requirements are met prior to importation. Formulate internal import service systems to be followed by the staff members of the International Division. Develop and maintain internal records and data of resources with respect to product availability, terms, conditions and product preferences for various wholesale Kobe beef customer groups to maximize promotion and marketing capabilities. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for Kobe beef and maintain records of product ordered and received. Control purchasing department budgets. Interview and hire staff, and oversee staff training in Kobe beef product specifications with authority of hiring, firing and disciplinary actions as deemed necessary. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.

Job Requirements:
Requires Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 2 years experience in job offered or in any management-level occupation. Experience must have been gained in Kobe beef industry.
