Job Description:
Experienced technical project manager responsible for a development team of 6+ developers. The team is responsible for implementing new client solutions and enhancing existing applications. Responsible for management of multiple, simultaneous projects. Capable of adapting and flourishing in a highly challenging and dynamic environment.
Duties And Responsibilities:
• Project Management of all projects/tasks within the team consisting of:
o Creation of project plans
o Leveling of project plans
o Timely achievement of milestones
o Proactive variance analysis
• Working with functional areas to plan and manage weekly release schedule / upgrade path for each client
• Interfacing with functional areas to manage and estimate scope, expectations, deliverables and project budget
• Solution definition - determine and document requirements to be implemented within development projects.
• Solution delivery - design, build, test, and deployment of solution
• Solution quality - ensuring quality assurance methodology and adherence to MDC standards
• Managing all hand-offs within and across the team
• Promote and contribute to the improvement of development methodologies
• Manage process adherence
• Mentoring and formal/informal training of team resources
• Motivate and energize the team to achieve corporate as well as team goals
• Participation in the interviewing and selection of new development resources
• Manage resource utilization, productivity and internal prioritization of tasks
• Trending and management of quality and productivity metrics
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Bachelor's degree in technology related field of study or equivalent work experience
• A minimum of six years experience in IT consisting of:
o Two years of experience in the design and development of business application software
o Three years of project management experience - PMP Certification preferred
• Well-rounded estimating skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Experience with coaching and mentoring development staff
• Record of commitment to organization, clients, team, and project performance
• Interactive / hands-on management style
• Commitment to the quality process
• Methodology / Process Management discipline
• Results oriented project management style
