Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for the successful delivery of all services related to plan testing, annual audits, government forms and compliance. Also recommends and participates in process improvements.


Job Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
• Perform all required nondiscrimination testing including 410(b) coverage testing, 401(k) and 401(m) nondiscrimination testing, top-heavy testing and 401(a)(4) general testing.
• Determine options for correction and recommend best case scenario(s) for corrective actions to plan consultant for failed testing, including proactive changes in plan design.
• Compile data and prepare government Forms 5500 (including schedules) and Forms 5330.
• Address all issues brought to Milliman by plan sponsors and external partners in a timely and professional manner.
• As needed, respond to client inquiries, resolve service issues and demonstrate a proactive solution-based approach to enhance client relations.
• Demonstrate full understanding of clients and their plans. Develop in-depth understanding of each client’s sensitivities, needs and objectives with respect to their benefit plans, especially as it relates to all testing, audits and compliance needs.
• Monitor plan parameters and administrative operations to ensure compliance with plan document provisions, as well as applicable governmental rules and regulations.
• Work with assigned Client Service Associates and/or clients to “clean” census data for purposes of nondiscrimination testing.
• Monitor 402(g), 415 limits, plan-specific contribution limits and plan-level deductibility limits. Execute corrective measures.
• Help to compile and balance financial information and prepare Schedule H attachment to Form 5500.
• Project manage annual plan audits and act as primary contact with plan auditors during audits.
• If needed, calculate and/or allocate employer contributions, profit sharing, match, match true ups, etc.
• If needed, track minimum required distributions for the plan. Calculate distributions and communicate with plan participants as needed.
• Manage diversification rules for qualified employer stock ownership plans.
• Provide technical expertise to clients and Milliman team members.
• Deliver the highest quality of service to clients, associates and management.
• Demonstrate professional conduct within the team and with internal and external partners.
• Respond to internal and external partners in a timely and professional manner.
• Proactively communicate with all key stakeholders.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• At least five years of experience in defined contribution industry.
• Extensive experience in multiple aspects of administration, especially annual audits compilation and support, nondiscrimination and coverage testing, and government forms (e.g., 5500 and applicable schedules).
• Knowledge of ERISA with the ability to keep current with the changing regulations/laws affecting retirement plans and DOL and IRS regulations.
• American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) designations of Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) or commitment to work on designation immediately to complete within 24 to 36 months.
• Highly desired is the ASPPA designation of Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) or desire to work on this designation.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Able to productively respond to change.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Omni experience a plus.
