The Job:
• Set-up, operate and maintain 5-Axis CNC Router used to machine composite materials (CFRP) for aerospace products.
• Specify expendable tooling requirements, change tools as required.
• Load and set-up tool fixtures onto machine bed.
• Perform quality control and inspection with the use of dimensional inspection equipment, CMM equipment and hand-held gauges
• Complete process and inspection documentation as required.
• Assist with developing work instructions and manufacturing documents.
• Operate other machinery such as lathes, milling and cutting machines to machine composite (carbon fiber reinforced plastics, CFRP)
• Develop, review and edit machine programs.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering to assist with developing machine programs, proper machining operations, tooling requirements and part fixture concepts.
Job Requirements:
Ideal Candidate:
• High degree of proficiency using 5-axis CNC equipment and instrumentation is required.
• Good understanding of numerical controls and machine codes.
• Candidates must excel in computers, tooling, and machining, programming is a plus.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Good math and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of drawing / blueprint reading and machine shop terminology.
• CMM inspection (FARO arm preferred)
• Understand Geometric Tolerance, dimensional inspection, CMM inspection is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with 4 or 5 Axis machining centers.
• CAD design or understanding 3D models is a plus.
• CAD/CAM experience, (SolidWorks and SurfCam experience a plus)
• ANSI 14.5 is a plus.
We are located on Rte. 1 in Walpole, MA, close to Boston and Providence.
